We exhibited at the Pacific Agriculture Show in Abbotsford from 23 to 25 January. It was an opportunity to meet growers, see the equipment being used in their operations and introduce our work to more of BC’s agricultural community.
We have a West Coast office, and our co-founder Tom Ulanowski is a Professional Agrologist in British Columbia. Greenhouses and other controlled agriculture operations are part of the work we do here. The show gave us time to meet people from that industry at our booth and around the exhibition floor.
Bringing factory monitoring into growing operations
The equipment behind a greenhouse has plenty in common with equipment we monitor in factories. Pumps move water, heating systems use energy and teams need to know when conditions change. Readings from those systems help explain what is happening alongside the growing conditions.
We can bring water flow, temperature and equipment readings into the same dashboard. That lets the people responsible for a greenhouse follow conditions together, whether they are beside the equipment or checking remotely.
Our agriculture page explains how we approach that work. Existing meters can be part of the system, with additional sensors where the team needs a closer view.
We appreciated the chance to meet growers and equipment suppliers in person. A conversation beside a piece of equipment often gives us a useful starting point for discussing what someone wants to measure.
